I have been a student of martial arts for a number of years. About one year ago I started the Monday Qi gong class and Friday Tai Chi class with Paul Stern. Paul has an extensive knowledge of numerous styles of martial arts. Since my circumstances limit my training to daytime classes these are the only classes that fit my schedule. I would certainly take more of Paul’s classes if my situation allowed that.
5 star rating Highly recommend.
I have enjoyed the Adult Kung Fu and Tai Chi classes because it has been a great way to exercise and learn Martial Arts. Mr Paul has been a fun and cool teacher to learn from. I’m glad that he takes the time to teach these classes because I like learning Kung Fu and TaiChi.
We are fortunate to have a resource like the Manitou Center in our community – programs and classes there fill my spirit and challenge my thinking!
I love kung fu including staff and everything in it. I am happy I chose this for my summer activity.
I participate regularly in yoga and community mindfulness practice. I have also attended a few of the Saturday special events, such as a restorative yoga and mindfulness class and a vegetarian pot luck. I love the sense of community that I feel at the Manitou Center!
An excellent place for study, meditation, sangha, visiting teachers and special events! I love practicing and teaching here!!
I am making a healthy choice to for myself and my community by going to meditation and being present with what is.
I visited the Manitou Center for my first time today for a free yoga & mindfulness event and it was incredible! I’m still feeling my yoga high and was totally impressed with everyone involved! I’ll definitely be back.
This is an incredible community. I feel so welcomed and at home each time I come here!
Wonderful place for classes, community and events! I always look forward to the various offerings on their schedule to feed the mind, body, and spirit!
Great place to meditate with fellow Zen practitioners. Serene atmosphere, meditation experience with Zen tradition.
Manitou is a very warm and welcoming place. Trish and Paul are the real deal, genuine and sincere. Non-pretentious, very kind and encouraging.
I enjoy the sense of community at Manitou. Where else might you meditate, do yoga, make art, and eat pizza with the same people all in one season! At Manitou, you don’t just meditate together. You make friends.
Manitou is always a place to practice meditation. What’s more, when I wanted to deepen my commitment to meditation and take my Buddhist precepts, Manitou had the learning resources and officiants I needed to strengthen my commitment to meditation, to Buddhism, and to my own spiritual development.
The Reclaim Your Lunch Break class is amazing! I did not need to bring anything but me. Being a beginner and having just 1 hour for lunch, I was happy to see that the mats were already laid out along with blocks, blankets and a chair for extra support. Trish led us in gentle stretching and poses that worked out kinks in the hips, shoulders and back. Her voice is so soothing and her instructions are easy to follow. For those of us that sit a lot or work in ways that require repetitive motion or have jobs that leave us tense or stressed, this is a perfect respite for the body as well as the mind. We had plenty of time to rest in relaxation pose (Śavāsana) at the end and we were out the door at 1:00 sharp. These 45 minutes bring out all the really good feels; I look forward to coming back!
